Sunday Weirdness
January 25, 2009The Sunday funnies today were a little extra-weird today, sometimes bordering on creepy.
Barney Google and Snuffy Smith - 01/25/2009
Poor Jughaid. All he wants is cake and ice cream. If it means he’ll end up toothless, short, and bald, with a giant nose, he’s totally fine with it. At least he has something to aspire to.
Beetle Bailey - 01/25/2009
Here, we see Sarge, wading aimlessly through a creek, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he’s getting wet. He’s staring off into space, wide-eyed. Maybe Beetle’s antics finally caused him to snap.
The Family Circus - 01/25/2009
Sick of their parents’ constant yelling and arguing, the Keane kids decided to build a replacement family from snow. Jeffy’s cuddling up next to his snow creature, futilely craving any type of human contact.

I noticed Ted starting down the path to crazy-town a few months ago, but it looks like maybe the whole family could be headed there before too long.
It’s rather unfair of you to write a blog about the sunday comics when you never link to them.

Actually, all four of the comics I mentioned in this post are available on the Houston Chronicle’s site, and I link to them from this site. All of the Chronicle’s color comics have a Sunday strip on the Chronicle’s website, though for some reason, they don’t link to it themselves.
For example, if you go to http://www.comicstriparchive.com/Family_Circus/ and click on the January 25th, 2009 link, you’ll see the strip mentioned above.
For the current black and white strips, I’m working on linking to some of them in color and with Sunday strips, I’ll keep you posted.

HI. I thought I had just stumbled onto comic strip nirvana, but it was not to be. My favorite strip is 9 Chickweed Lane. Unfortunately, your link has discontinued carrying all back strips of 9CL. I’ve used the Houston several times in the past, but I was hoping your website would work as your layout is far better than any other comic strip related sites.
